Revamped Retail Expo

Administrator | 14 August 2007

A refreshed concept, broader focus, and eight new product zones have sparked an overwhelmingly positive response to Australia’s largest retail exhibition, 2007 Retail Expo Australasia.

Catering to industry demand for a one-stop holistic retail event, Diversified Exhibitions Australia has combined the strength of the popular Retail Technology Expo and Shopfit & Design Expo to form Australia’s leading event for ‘everything retail’. Retail Expo will take place 14–16 August 2007, Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

The exhibition will showcase cutting-edge technologies, services and shopfitting solutions from more than 220 exhibitors across eight specialist retail sectors – Shopfit & Design, Retail Technology, Security, Retail Advertising, Business Services, Supply Chain, In-store Marketing and Signage.

“Retail Expo has experienced a complete turnaround. Exhibitors and visitors are responding to our new holistic-approach,” said Timothy Collett, Exhibition Director, Diversified Exhibitions Australia.

“Visitors understand that the revamped Retail Expo offers access to a diverse range of industry-leading products and services that are critical to creating an efficient, profitable and customercentric store. Conversely, exhibitors recognise the unparalleled benefits of exposing their businesses to a potential 5,000 retailers with $16 billion to spend.”

Among the industry heavyweights already set to exhibit at Retail Expo are sponsors Fujitsu Australia and Praestegaard Australia, as well as Epson, mei + picci, Telstra, Panasonic, MYOB, and Polyflor. Ninety-percent of floor space has already been secured, and remaining spaces for the show are quickly being snapped up by exhibitors determined to benefit from Australia’s premier retail industry event.

The trade only exhibition will again feature the successful Retail Skills Workshop program, renowned for offering expert industry advice and showcasing innovative products and services. Stimulating session topics include

  • Fitting out a Retail Store Made Easy;
  • Market Perspective: Global Retail Trends;and
  • Emotional Branding and Connecting through the Five Senses.

Exhibitors and visitors can be kept up to date with the latest Retail Expo news by visiting www.Retailbiz.com. au. This online news source will work in synergy with the exhibition, offering retailers and suppliers a vehicle for more effective communication.

Organisers believe the new timing of the annual exhibition – taking place a month earlier than last year – and the strength of the concurrent National Retail Forum line-up are also contributing factors driving the success of this high exposure industry event.

The National Retail Forum – Australia’s leading retail conference – will be held in conjunction with Retail Expo Australasia and will feature some of the industry’s most influential movers and shakers including Bernie Brookes, CEO, Myer; Peter Alexander, Founder, Peter Alexander Pyjamas; Mark McCrindle, Director, McCrindle Research; and Pierce Cody, CEO and Founder of Macro Wholefoods.

This year’s forum will centre around three key streams: Environment – where you retail is as important as what you retail; Multi Channel - understanding the new consumer; and Differentiate - standing out from the crowd. The Australian Retailers Association (ARA) and the Australian Centre for Retail Studies (ACRS) are Conference Partners for the National Retail Forum. Both events are proudly supported by Platinum Sponsor Fujitsu Australia and Silver Sponsors Praestegaard Australia and QAS.
