Administrator | 16 June 2008
Presenters at the upcoming National Retail Forum, 12-13 August 2008, will shed light on their personal experiences and expertise with the aim of equipping retailers with the knowledge they need to survive the times.

Returning to Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre after two years in Melbourne, this year’s
National Retail Forum will explore the most pertinent issues facing the retail industry, including
sustainability, staff retention, women in retail, online retailing, visual branding and how to increase
store revenue.

Industry heavyweights, including Sally McDonald, CEO, The Oroton Group; Roger Gillespie, CEO,
Bakers Delight; Louisa Trombin, HR Manager, The Body Shop; Ross McDonald, Industry Marketing
Manager – Retail, Entertainment and Consumer Goods, Google Australia; and Pierce Cody, Director
Macro Wholefoods are amongst the confirmed list of experts set to share their insights.

“Being part of such a competitive industry, Australian and New Zealand retailers can’t afford
to miss this year’s National Retail Forum if they want to be prepared for the next year of retailing
and gear their business for success. Everything from the environment and sustainable retailing
to emotional branding and creative store design will be discussed,” said Peter O’Flynn, Event
Manager, National Retail Forum.

The Australian Retailer’s Association and the Australian Centre for Retail Studies (ACRS) are
Conference Partners for the National Retail Forum, which will run over two comprehensive days
in conjunction with the 2008 Retail Expo Australasia. With more than 220 local and international
exhibitors, and an anticipated visitor audience or more than 6,000 serious retailers, Retail Expo
Australasia promises to showcase the latest products, services, technologies and shopfitting
solutions from around the globe, cementing its preeminent position as Australia’s premier
retail trade event.
